Udine, 15 November 2022
Despar continues to take to the pitch alongside Udinese Calcio in 2022/23, having renewed and strengthened its connection with the Friuli-based club.
The Despar business (Aspiag Service), a concessionaire of the Despar, Eurospar and Interspar brands in Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Trentino Alto Adige, Emilia Romagna and Lombardy, will be an official Udinese Calcio partner throughout the current season.
This important and historic collaboration dates back to 2006, with the two organisations sharing common targets and values such as enhancing the local region (Despar has over 140 sales point in Friuli), working towards sustainability and tackling social issues. Despar also played an active role in the club’s 2022/23 season ticket campaign in which all season-ticket holders were given a gift voucher.
As an official partner, Despar will be visible in the players’ tunnel, on pitchside LED hoardings, in the interview areas and mixed zone as well as digitally on Udinese Calcio and Udinese TV’s channels.
“We’re thrilled about the renewal of the partnership with Despar,” explained Udinese General Manager Franco Collavino. “Despar has always supported our region and undertaken major social work locally. We share Despar’s desire to work hard as a team on projects that enhance and promote Friuli, with a particular focus on social issues.”
“At Despar we’re so proud to remain alongside Udinese Calcio for this season,” stated Fabrizio Cicero Santalena, the regional director of Despar (Aspiag Service) in Friuli Venezia Giulia. “We hope the team can achieve the goals that were set out at the start of the campaign. Our brand has always been a close ally of sport across a range of disciplines, levels and regions that we are based in, in line with the values championed by those promoting and playing it.
“Udine is a historic region for Despar in terms of collaboration and we would like our contribution to further help this local club stand out even more amongst the high level competition within Italian football.”
