There is set to be a new blend of talent and pace down the wing for Udinese in 2023/24 now that Marley Ake has joined the club.

The Frenchman has signed for Udinese from Juventus on a loan deal with a right to buy and the Turin-based club also have a counter-option.

Ake is a winger who can offer a range of attributes to benefit the team’s attacking play, thanks to his tireless engine and fine technical skill.

Born in the French city of Beziers on 5 January 2001 into a family of Ivorian origin, as a youngster, Ake joined the prestigious Olympique Marseille academy, where he scored seven goals in 30 appearances for the B team in 2018/19 at the age of just 17. He moved up into the first team during the following campaign, featuring in nine Ligue 1 matches as well as three in the Coupe de France and one in the now-defunct Coupe de la Ligue.

In 2020/21, he replicated his tally of nine league appearances and made his debut in the Champions League, ending the campaign with four matches under his belt in Europe’s top club competition.

Halfway through that season, he joined Juventus, where he scored twice in 17 outings for the under-23s in Serie C.

Five goals in 25 appearances followed during the campaign after, which saw Ake get into the first-team mix, playing four times in Serie A, with his debut coming against Atalanta on 13 February, and twice in the Coppa Italia.

In 2022/23, the winger made five appearances in Serie C and the Coppa Italia Serie C for Juventus Next Gen before making a January switch to Ligue 2 outfit Dijon, where he netted three goals in 14 games during the second half of the campaign.

Ake, who also has one France cap to his name at U19 level, is set to wear the number 15 jersey at Udinese.

Bienvenue, Marley!
