Walace: "Let's keep our heads held high"

The captain gave his thoughts after the game

Udinese captain Walace was interviewed after his side fell to a 2-0 home defeat against Fiorentina. Here are some of his thoughts:

“The stats tell a different story from the result, but at the end of the day they scored twice and we didn’t. Let’s keep our heads held high and work hard. We played well and we’re on the right track.

“We’re desperate to win, as are the fans. Unfortunately that’s football for you. All we can do is knuckle down. We’ll analyse where we need to improve tomorrow and move on.

“I consoled Lorenzo Lucca in the dressing room as he missed a chance to make it 1-1. I told him not to beat himself up because sooner rather than later he’ll start scoring. We’re aware of what he’s capable of.

“We can improve and we need to do so quickly. Serie A won’t wait for us. We’re a tight-knit group and we’ll be so until the bitter end.”
