Jaka Bijol didn’t mince his words when talking about Udinese’s third consecutive last-minute defeat on Thursday evening.
“It’s the most difficult time of my career, but we have to keep our heads high. We’ll be back in training tomorrow. We can’t mess anything up from now on. There are five games to go, and we have to stay up. We’ve conceded a lot of goals in the final few minutes this season. It’s really hard but we’ve got to show character.
“This team is made up of real players and we need to show that. I’m sure that we’ll give our all for the last few matchdays. We’re aiming to stay in Serie A. It’s important for us, for the club, and for the city of Udine. We want to earn points. I’m convinced we can do well, we just need a bit of luck too.
“Changing coach is always a bit hard. We’ve all made mistakes, including Gabriele Cioffi. Fabio Cannavaro has a strong personality. We need to listen to everything he tells us and implement that on the pitch.”
