Udinese were beaten 2-0 at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino, going behind just before half time and chasing an equaliser throughout the second half before Torino sealed the result with a late goal.
The visitors started brighter, controlling possession and creating the first real moment of danger with a low cross from Arthur Atta that Jurgen Ekkelenkamp almost met. Torino responded with a series of corners, all dealt with by the defence and Maduka Okoye.
Midway through the first half, Torino threatened again from a corner, with Kingsley Ehizibue making a crucial block on Guillermo Maripan's header. Moments later, Che Adams took aim from distance but the ball went over.
Both sides looked for space to shoot but struggled to break through, until Torino recovered the ball on the edge of the Udinese area and unleashed a flurry of attempts. Okoye saved the first two, but Adams scored the third from close range to put the hosts in front at the break.
After the restart, Udinese pushed for an equaliser. Just before the 55th minute, Sandi Lovric had a shot saved by Vanja Milinkovic-Savic, who also denied Atta soon after with a diving stop.
The pressure continued. Martin Payero burst forward and found Lovric in the box, but the Slovenian narrowly missed the ball. Keinan Davis then drove forward with the ball but his shot was straight at the keeper. Payero had another chance, volleying a flick-on from Rui Modesto, but again Milinkovic-Savic was alert.
With 15 minutes remaining, Udinese threatened again. Hassane Kamara fired over from distance, and five minutes later Davis turned in the area but his attempt was blocked by the keeper.
Torino were limited to rare counter-attacks but took their chance when substitute Ali Dembele scored with a low finish across goal from the right.
Udinese kept fighting and Davis again tested the keeper with a strong run and shot, but there was no reward. Despite dominating the final stages, they could not find a way through. The 2-0 loss leaves the club on 40 points in the table.
