After a goalless first half, Nicolo Zaniolo broke the deadlock following some fine work by Jurgen Ekkelenamp and Alessandro Zanoli.
Ekkelenkamp added a second with eight minutes left on the clock – set up superbly by Keinan Davis.
Cesare Casadei then halved the deficit but Kosta Runjaic's men held firm to claim a huge victory and reach the halfway point of the season on 25 points.
