Following Udinese’s 4-0 win over Avellino in the Coppa Italia our captain Florian Thauvin offered his opinions on the match:
“I’m really happy with how we’ve been working as a team. We’ve done well at doing what the coach has asked of us.
“It’s really important to win our first game. I’m really happy with my performance. It’s a new season, I’ve got new responsibilities and I’m content.
“These tactics suit me – I’m playing in my preferred role, the one I’ve had throughout my career.
“When I first came here from Mexico I wasn’t physically ready. Belief is really important as a footballer – this coach has given me a lot. I didn’t get a run in the team under previous managers but that’s in the past – I’m here to give my all to help the club.
“I love the affection I get from the fans – it’s a real boost moving forward. I’d like to give them a big thank you.”
