Florian Thauvin reflected on the first few weeks of pre-season training after scoring in Udinese's 4-1 win over Croatian outfit NK Istra.
“It was a good game. We're pushing ahead with the work we're doing with the coach. The main thing is trying to replicate the things we're doing in training.
“We need a different mentality this season – winning has to be the watchword.
“I'm really pleased with how I'm training personally. I ended last season with an injury but I'm fine now. I'm working hard because I want to be a key player for the team.
“I really like this new formation as it means I can play in my favourite position – the one I've played in most throughout my career.
“[Kosta] Runjaic has come in with a new playing philosophy. He wants us to keep the ball and play attacking football. I feel very confident about the future. I struck up an excellent relationship with him from day one. We've spent a lot of time talking and I'm here to help him as best I can so that we can have a great season at this special club and city.”
