“We’re disappointed – we’ll be going home unhappy with how things panned out. But we played well and created a lot of chances.” Andrea Sottil lamented Udinese’s 2-0 home loss to Fiorentina. Here’s more of what the boss had to say:
“We played our best game of the season. We didn’t deserve to lose, not one bit. However we’ve got to accept what happened and be more clinical in front of goal.
“Football can’t always be this cruel on us. We’ve got to keep on working like we’ve been doing so far, because results will come with performances like these. What other option do we have? To wallow? We know that we need to learn to hold our nerve. We’ve got Napoli next – we’ll give them all we’ve got.
“Regret serves no purpose. Getting a win is the only medicine I know to give us a self-confidence boost.
“Martin Payero and Thomas Kristensen both started today and did well. Kristensen has been doing well in training and he’ll kick on. Payero is more than ready to do a great job for the team.
“We can’t get hung up on our lack of goals. We’ll carry out some individual analysis on our finishing. We can’t be too nervous when it comes to finding the net.”
