Udinese have lined up a defensive reinforcement for the second half of the season, with Oumar Solet set to bolster the ranks from January.
The 24-year-old centre-back, born in Melun (France) on 7 February 2000, has signed a contract until 30 June 2027.
A strapping defender blessed with agility and technique, Solet spent the last four seasons at RB Salzburg, where he acquired Champions League experience.
He started out at Levallois before being snapped up by Lyon as a 17-year-old. He made his senior debut for OL in the 2018/19 season.
In the summer of 2020 he joined Salzburg and soon established himself as a first-team regular, making a name for himself as one of the most promising young centre-backs in Europe.
During his four years in Austria, he made 106 appearances in all competitions – including 14 in the Champions League and four in the Europa League – weighing in with four goals.
Solet has represented France at youth level, earning four U17 caps, four with the U18s, 12 at U19 level (with one goal) and two for the U20s.
From January, he will be ready to don the Udinese shirt. Bienvenue, Oumar!
