Marco Silvestri and Daniele Padelli were the special guests at an meet-and-greet event organised by Udinese with the seaside resort of Grado.
The goalkeeping duo posed for pictures and gave out autographs to supporters who had come along to meet the Udinese stars.
Silvestri shared his first impression of the town, situated on a lagoon island on the Adriatic coast.
“It's really nice here. I've never been before because I like to stay at home and I don't drive much but I'lll definitely be coming back here to see it better.”
Padelli, on the other hand, was already familiar with the location.
“I came here for a month when my second child was born. It's a lovely place to be. The food is excellent and you can soak up the history of the town.”
So many families turned up to meet the two goalkeepers that they decided to stay on after the allotted time so as not to disappoint the children waiting.
“We stayed a bit longer to finish autographs and photos with the youngsters because I didn't want anyone to be left out,” Silvestri explained.
“You must always thank the fans, especially the younger generations,” Padelli added. “We're footballers but we wouldn't be much without the fans.”
