The press room at Bluenergy Stadium played host to a press conference on Wednesday featuring managing director Franco Collavino, technical director Gokhan Inler and four new signings that joined the club in the summer transfer window, including goalkeeper Razvan Sava, who moved to Udine from CFR Cluj.

Collavino: “He’s a 22-year-old prototype of the modern goalkeeper who’s good with his feet. He’s joining a top-level goalkeeping department and with his qualities, he can go on a pathway in Udine that will take him to the biggest stages.”

Inler: “I’m happy. He’s a player who has the right mentality for Udinese. He’s young. He’s a player to bear in find for the future but he also has plenty of experience behind him. I think he’s ready. It’s over to him to give his all for the team because we need everyone.”

Sava: “I come here with ambition. I’m ready to give everything for this team. The choice to stay here was made together to help me develop, learn and adapt to Serie A. In terms of my attributes, I can say that I feel strong in all areas, but it’s better to let the coaches do the talking about that.

“I don’t have a particular role model. I try to do what I need to and learn from others. There are goalkeepers that I really like and take inspiration from, such as [Jan] Oblak and [Thibaut] Courtois. As for [Maduka] Okoye and [Daniele] Padelli, I have a good relationship with them. There’s always something to learn from them. We speak a lot and they help me out, which makes me feel at home.

“When you don’t play (NB referring to his previous stint in Italy), it can be better to go abroad. In my case, it meant going back home. I didn’t play at Cluj either at the start, but I gave my all, earned my place and developed futher.”
