Kosta Runjaic reflected on Saturday's two friendly matches against Werder Bremen, both of which were won by Udinese - 1-0 in the morning game and 2-1 in the afternoon.
“After two wins against Werder Bremen, even the most critical of coaches could allow himself to be a little satisfied. Both Udinese teams played with a lot of commitment, passion, discipline and bite. We were able to give useful minutes to nearly all the players. You can sense the competition for places is heating up and that can only help us improve as a team.
“Since the very first pre-season training session, team spirit has been at the heart of everything we've done and that's why on this occasion I don't want to single out any players in particular.
“We'll analyse the games properly over the coming days and look at all the details with the lads. We're certainly on the right track but we can still improve a lot. We have time before the Coppa Italia to work on different aspects that can make a difference.”
