Kosta Runjaic declared himself happy with Udinese's performance against Lecce and their home form in general after they won their third game of the season at Bluenergy Stadium.

The 1-0 victory on Saturday means the team head into the international break with 13 points from their first seven league fixtures.

“We needed to improve and we did that,” Runjaic began after the final whistle. “It was a tricky game. Lecce let us play in the first half but our ball circulation was slow. They were dangerous on the counter-attack. At half time we showed the team a few things and they took it on and improved after the break.

“[Jordan] Zemura scored a superb free kick to win the game and give us three huge points. My assistant coordinates who takes set-pieces. It's a great Saturday for us.

“I focus only on the present and deal with each game as it comes. I was a little worried after our first match but we responded really well against Lazio and we've been improving since apart from the Roma game. The next match is always the most important one.

“We wanted to be strong at home this season and we're on the right track there. We played well against Inter too. I hope we can keep up this sort of home record going forward – that would help us be consistent this season.”
