Kosta Runjaic was full of praise for his team after they battled to a 2-1 win at Monza on Monday evening.
“I'm pleased. It was a difficult game and we had to withstand a lot of pressure but the lads all put in a huge shift. We've got three points away from home against a good team who play well and create lots of chances – as they did today. It often comes down to the small details. We have 20 points now after a tricky match. I can only thank the team.
“We played well in the first half, albeit not the way we'd planned to because we thought we would have more possession. They played with a lot of energy, which made it hard for us to keep the ball and caused us problems out wide. It was a logical choice to switch back to our usual system. We conceded that goal in a strange way, rather cheaply, but overall the second half was better.
“As for us scoring headed goals, we have [Lorenzo] Lucca who's fantastic in the air in the box. There was a great build-up move and cross for that goal too. I'm happy for him, not just with for the goal but his general attitude. He's only at the start of his career.”
