Kosta Runjaic expressed his satisfaction at giving the home crowd something to cheer about in Udinese's first Serie A match of the season at Bluenergy Stadium.
“I'm really happy,” the coach began after orchestrating Saturday's 2-1 victory over Lazio. “It was a difficult game against a great team but we started off brightly and very energetically. We went into every challenge with real determination and took Lazio by surprise.
“We were aware of the fact we only won one game at home last season and this is a big result because that's a statistic we must put right.
“We've given our fans a lot of joy but we know we still have to improve, especially in our possession play. We played one for all and all for one with real aggression from the first second to the very last.”
Runjaic was also asked about Hassane Kamara, who saw red in the 70th minute after collecting his second booking of the day.
“I was about to replace Kamara right before he was sent off because he was on a yellow – a minute later I'd have subbed him off. He slid in too easily but he had a solid game.”
