Kosta Runjaic gave an interview to TV 12 ahead of Wednesday's visit to Venezia. Here's what he had to say:
CAGLIARI AND VENICE
“What I liked about the game against Cagliari was the way we got stuck straight into it and won lots of duels. I liked our determination and team spirit.
“We know it won't be easy against Venezia because they're playing at their place and there will be a great atmosphere. They've been tricky customers for everyone who's played them so far. They've created lots of chances and they have nothing to lose. I'm expecting a tough game. We'll need a huge effort.”
ROTATION
Asked if he would rotate with Saturday's game against Juventus in mind, the coach replied: “We always focus on the next match, as that's always the most important one, but of course when you have a week like this you do think about rotation. Yes, it is possible. I can't tell you anything about our line-up yet. We have another night to sleep on it. I'll make the calls tomorrow.”
DAVIS AND THAUVIN
“Everyone at the club is happy for [Keinan] Davis and the 90 minutes he played. He struggled in pre-season but we work with him every day and he's an important player for us. He might start tomorrow or he might be on the bench. We definitely need him in good shape all season because he's a key player for us.
“[Florian] Thauvin has been training with the team since Sunday. He's in good spirits and is happy to be back. He'll certainly come with us to Venice, then we'll decide how to use them.”
UDINESE FANS
“I'm happy for our fans. They've been behind us since pre-season and I can feel the buzz in the air. I can feel the energy in the dressing room too. Our fans' support is very important to us.
“It will be difficult in Venice. Lots of people see it as a derby, as I do, and it's the first time we've played in Venice. We'll do our jobs as best we can, then we'll see about celebrating together.”
AMBITIONS
“We'll keep taking things one game at a time. We're growing. We need to keep training and playing as we are, and try to pick up as many points as possible. We can all dream – it's good to have dreams – but we have to stay focused on the present.”
