Kosta Runjaic said there was relief all round when Udinese scored a third goal to put an end to Venezia's comeback and claim three points at Bluenergy Stadium.
This is what the boss had to say at his press conference after Saturday's 3-2 win.
"It was a tense match with lots of goals and lots of duels. Both teams gave everything they had and in the end we won it in front of our fans, which is the best we can ask for. It was quite a relief after the third goal.
"We played with good energy today. If you support Udinese, you know you're going to suffer at times and today we all suffered. After we went 2-0 up we lost control of the match. They had their backs to the wall but then they reacted. We had some difficulties, psychologically speaking too. Venezia scored their first goal with their second shot of the game – a brilliant free kick. Then they scored their second from another set-piece. We knew they could be dangerous.
"In the end we managed to get the third goal. We lost the reverse fixture after surrendering a two-goal lead, so today it feels especially good. It's good for the spirit, for the body and for the fans.”
