“We’re furious about the defeat.” Nehuen Perez held nothing back in his appearance on TV12 in the wake of Udinese’s 2-0 loss to Fiorentina. Here are the highlights of his interview:
“We played so well yet we lost. However we believe that if we keep playing like this we’ll get a win.
“We felt that we could’ve beaten Fiorentina. We should’ve beaten them. I can’t remember a game in which we created as many chances as we did on Sunday.
“I echo Walace’s thoughts. Like our fans we always want to win games. Nobody is happy when we lose – that’s evident. Now is the time to stick together and work as a real team, both us players and the fans.
“We take risks by piling forward but I’m convinced that we’ll win more matches than we’ll lose with this style of play.
“When Festy Ebosele is on form no player can beat him in a 50/50. He looks really solid and we’re happy because he’ll benefit the team as a whole.
“I’m so glad to be going into my third season here. Udinese are a huge club and I’m so keen to help the team. I want to have a great season, both on an individual and collective level.
“We’re aware that the Napoli game will be tough but it won’t be straightforward for them either. We always play well against the top teams.”
