Payero signs for Udinese

The Argentine signs from Middlesborough

Class, energy and an eye for goal, Udinese have bolstered their ranks by bringing in Martin Payero.

The Argentine midfielder has been signed on a permanent deal from Middlesborough, with his contract running until 30 June 2027 with the option for a further season.

Payero is a modern number 10 who is a capable of filling in a number of roles.
 
Born on 11 September 1998 in Pasacanas, Argentina, Payero came through the ranks at Banfield, who we went on to make his first team debut for aged 19 on 4 December 2017.

He racked up 18 appearances and scored one goal for the club before heading on loan to Talleres in the summer of 2019. He then came back to Banfield and made a further 23 appearances, getting another goal.

His performances caught the eye of Middlesborough and he joined the English side in 2019. He went on to play 15 league games for the club, scoring once. 

Payero then returned to his home country on loan to play for Boca Juniors, making 32 appearances in all competitions and scoring five times.

The youngster heads to Friuli ready to continue the great tradition of Argentines at Udinese.

He has also accumulated international experience, playing for Argentina at the Olympic Games in Tokyo. He will wear the number 30 shirt.
