Matteo Palma shared his thoughts after notching his first goal for the senior team – albeit in a friendly – in the 2-1 win against Werder Bremen on Saturday.
“Scoring that goal was an amazing feeling – I couldn't believe it!” the defender began. “When I nearly got a second I was ready to celebrate but unfortunately it didn't go in.
“I'm happy to have played so many minutes in pre-season. It means a lot to me as a young player. It's important to make a good start to the season and I'm pleased with my performances
“I play in different positions and have different tasks depending on whether we're playing three or four at the back but I've felt comfortable in both systems.”
