Following their wins over England and Colombia in the round of sixteen and quarter-finals respectively, Italy have now made the U20 World Cup final for the first time ever, overcoming South Korea 2-1.
The tournament’s leading goalscorer Cesare Casadei opened the scoring for Italy early on, but Seung-Won Lee equalised from the spot shortly after. The game looked like it was heading to penalties before Simone Pafundi scored a wonderful free kick in the 86th minute to send Italy into the final. They will face Uruguay on Sunday 11 June in La Plata.
Forza Simone and Forza Italia!
