Maduka Okoye and Kosta Runjaic spoke at the post-game press conference following Udinese's 0-0 draw with Como.
Okoye on the match
"I'm happy with the clean sheet and above all with the point. Como are a really tough team but we did a lot of work preparing for them in the week and we were ready.
“We always look at how the game is going to decide whether to build from the back of go long. Towards the end we didn't want to run any risks so we played it long.”
Runjaic on the match
“We prepared for the game based on Como's style of play – they're a team that like to keep the ball but they're also good on the counter. It's always good to have a game plan but then you need to be able to implement it too and the lads did that really well today. We made it tough for them. We wanted to have the ball ourselves and the possession was 50/50, which is rare against Como. We could have done better on a few occasions but it's a good point and back-to-back clean sheets. Como had won their last five games and that tells you a lot about our performance.”
Runjaic on Kabasele, Atta and Davis
“[Christian] Kabasele is 35 and he's having an incredible season. It was an intense match and he gave everything today. He was exhausted so we took him off. We did a great job defensively. You have to be totally switched on against teams like that or they make you pay but we maintained our concentration for 90 minutes.
“[Arthur] Atta played well, partly thanks to his team-mates. We have to be patient with him. He doesn't have a lot of experience and he's taken huge strides forward. Highs and lows are part of the development process but I'm pleased with what he's done so far. To perform at the highest level he needs to improve further but we're all happy with him. He's working hard and making progress and hopefully he'll keep doing even better.
“I don't know if we'd have won if [Keinan] Davis had been playing but he's in great form and we'd have preferred to have him with us. We'll have him back for the next one and this break may have done him good.”
