Monza 1-1 Udinese

Cioffi's second spell begins with a draw

Returning coach Gabriele Cioffi guided his Udinese side to an away point at Monza in his first game back on the bench.

Despite a promising start in which Lazar Samardzic and Jaka Bijol combined to nearly open the scoring, the hosts were the team to take the lead. Giorgos Kyriakopoulos went on a mauraudering run down the left flank before whipping a ball to Andrea Colpani who finished with aplomb. The rest of the first half saw few chances for either side, with Udinese having to rely on counter-attacks.

Cioffi’s men came out of the blocks strongly at the start of the second 45, with Isaac Success and Jordan Zemura spurning good goalscoring opportunities. The equaliser eventually came in the 67th minute through substitute Lorenzo Lucca, who found himself in space in the area and fired home.

Udinese withstood a late Monza onslaught to head home with a point in the bag.
