Lorenzo Lucca had a club debut to remember as he found the net in the 4-1 victory over Catanzaro on home soil on Friday evening.

“You always have to get the job done in these games. We took an early lead in the first half, but then conceded an equaliser. At half time, the coach told us what we needed to do better and we followed his instructions in the second half.

“I’m pleased that we’ve got through to the next round as a team. Now we have the first league game ahead of us, so we need to rest and be fully focused on Juventus.

“The coach encourages the forwards to move in pairs in training. As soon as I saw Marley Ake get a touch of the ball, I ran in behind to reach Oier Zarraga’s pass. The competition in attack helps. It drives you forward in the week to give your all. We’re a strong team and we have to play in this way.

“Our first league game is against a top team. I’m expecting the fans to get fully behind us. I can’t wait to be playing in front of a full stadium.”
