Lorenzo Lucca’s tireless efforts in the clash at the Stadio Olimpico on Monday evening were handsomely repaid as Udinese registered an impressive 2-1 victory. The forward ran his socks off throughout and registered a poacher’s goal to turn in Hassane Kamara’s shot to give Gabriele Cioffi’s side the lead in the second half. Here’s how he reacted to the victory.
“It was a game in which we had to dig in against a strong side and it came after a few poor performances. We stayed at it throughout and did so well to bring all three points back home.
“At 2-1 I could’ve scored again, but didn’t manage it. It wasn’t one of my best games, which I can say to myself but I know I am improving based on how I’m training in the week. We knew we had to stay compact out there and try to pick up as many points as possible. We have a huge game coming up on Saturday and we want to get back to winning ways at home now.
“As for the national team, I’m purely focused on working hard in the week at the moment.”
