“I’m here to get results.” Lorenzo Lucca didn’t beat around the bush as he was interviewed on Udinese Tonight. Here are the highlights of his appearance on the club’s TV channel:
“We haven’t started the season in the way we expected, even taking into account the squad turnover. We’re gelling more and more and the coach is helping us in this regard. I hope that we can get a win against Fiorentina.
“We’re disappointed about our 0-0 draw at home against Cagliari. We tried our best to win but it wasn’t to be. I was up all night thinking about Boris Radunovic’s save. Had I shanked my shot it would’ve gone in – instead I hit it clean and he did wonderfully well to keep it out. I’m now focused on Sunday’s game - it’ll be quite the challenge.
“As for my attacking partners, I get on great with Florian Thauvin. We all know how fantastic he is. I’ve not played a lot with Isaac Success, but overall we’ve got a good front line, we’re just short on luck. However, we’ve got to create our own luck.
“I spent time in the Eredivisie with Ajax. It’s less tactical than Serie A. I was able to improve in my tactical play as well as my mentality. A club like Ajax doesn’t sign you if they don’t think you’re a good player.
“As a person I’m really hard on myself. I could’ve scored more goals so far but I work hard every week to improve my shooting and to help the team win. One of my aims is to be called up by Italy.”
