Lorenzo Lucca doubled Udinese’s lead in Saturday’s match against Bologna and bagged his fifth home goal of the season so far. However, he hasn’t lost sight of the end goal.
“We’ve got to stay focused on what the coach asks from us, despite the final result.”
The centre-forward, who has scored seven goals this season in Serie A and the Coppa Italia, applauded his team for their performance on Saturday afternoon.
“We were solid, especially in defence. That’s what our coach asked us to do. We’ve got to carry on like this, taking it week by week and working hard.
“I’d already pictured my goal in my head, even before Sandi Lovric kicked the ball.”
Udinese were on top form in the second half and brought the final score to 3-0.
“We came back fighting. My goal cut their legs from under them. We came in off the back of two matches in which we conceded in the final few minutes. Today we were focused and really wanted the three points for our fans so we could get the New Year off to a good start.”
