Udinese came away from Stadio Via del Mare with a big win and a clean sheet on Monday evening, a crucial result with only two games left of the season. It means that the Zebrette are out of the relegation zone and climb to 15th place in the table.

Nehuen Perez made an extremely important block in the first few minutes to deny Nikola Krstovic. Udinese had a few decent chances in the first half, with a Lazar Samardzic free kick skimming the top of the net and Thomas Kristensen’s header just knocking the corner cross off target.

Isaac Success also had a chance from outside of the box, but it was Lorenzo Lucca that put Udinese on the scoreboard, heading Martin Payero’s cross into the back of the net.

Lecce turned up the intensity in the second half and started to test Maduka Okoye but the Udinese keeper managed to maintain his clean sheet.

The lads wrapped it up in the 85th minute when Samardzic jumped on a rebound from a save by the Lecce keeper to double the visitors' lead.

A big win for Udinese!
