Udinese Calcio are delighted to announce that captain Jesper Karlstrom has signed a new deal which runs until 30 June 2028.

The Swedish midfielder has been a key figure for Udinese ever since he joined the club. So far he has made 74 appearances for the Zebrette, scoring one goal, and providing a great deal of energy and leadership to the team.

Jesper has shown amazing consistency this campaign, playing virtually every available minute this season. He has featured for 3,085 of 3,150 possible minutes across Udinese’s 35 matches in 2025/26, between Serie A and the Coppa Italia. These impressive numbers underscore his importance within the team.

“I'm very happy to continue my experience here,” Karlstrom stated. “Udinese are an important club and I'm honoured to be the captain. I can't wait to finish this season on a high note and to continue representing this club for the next two years as we strive to achieve new goals together. I’d like to thank the club for their trust and the fans for the love they've always shown me. Over these two seasons I've appreciated the values of Udinese and the people of the city, and I'm happy to represent them on the pitch.”

“Renewing our captain Jesper’s contract is really significant. It further strengthens our team for the near future,” explained Franco Collavino, Udinese Calcio’s general manager. “Karlstrom immediately slotted right into our team, exuding a sense of belonging and leadership, both on and off the pitch. He's a player with international quality who is set to be a key player for Sweden at the next World Cup. He provides ideal contributions in terms of his mentality and by setting example to the many young talents in our squad. For this reason, we're very excited that Jesper is staying at the club.”

Congratulations, Jesper!
