It was a weekend of mixed emotions for Hassane Kamara as he experienced the joy of helping Udinese win their first Serie A home game of the season against Lazio but also the disappointment of being sent off after collecting two yellow cards in the second half.

“It's my first and last red card!” the 30-year-old promised, speaking as a guest on Udinese Tonight.

“I'm really happy because we won at home and we only managed that once last season, but I'm also angry because the red card made it harder for the team. When I got the first yellow, I stopped and tried to get the ball. I really didn't mean to go in on my opponent. On the second foul I did get some of the ball. I'm sorry because I won't be able to play on Sunday. I have to be more careful in future. The coach said he wanted to take me off immediately after the booking.”

The wing-back also commented on the early-season optimism in the Udinese camp following a three-match unbeaten start.

“I see lots of positives. We went through in the Coppa Italia, picked up a point at Bologna and beat Lazio. That shows the mentality we want this year.

“However, we're not yet at the level we want to be. It takes time. Against Bologna we didn't use the ball well and that's something we want to work on and improve.

“Against Lazio we did well defensively and pressed them right up to the end. We looked a bit better in possession but it's not enough yet. Obviously good results help you work better.”
