Kabasele and Runjaic's post-Fiorentina press conference

The defender and coach address the media after the game

After Monday's 3-0 defeat of Fiorentina, one of the goalscorers, Christian Kabasele, and Kosta Runjaic sat down with journalists for the post-match press conference.

Kabasele: “We all went to the hotel to spend time together two days before the match. We spoke together to try to find the way to turn things around – and we did that today.

“It was very important to win. We've played better in other games but at the end of the day we've won 3-0 and that's fine.

“I'm very happy that I scored today in a game that we won, as they didn't happen before. Six goals here are a lot but I hope it's not the last.

“I've always bonded a lot with the clubs I've played for. I know my contract is expiring but I'm cheering for the team, then we'll see what the club decides. Both football-wise and family-wise the easiest thing would be to stay here but we'll see what happens. I just get on with my job.”

Runjaic: “It wasn't an excellent game but we played with good intensity, discipline and passion. The reverse fixture was a painful defeat and we wanted to set the record straight today and get going against after losing the last three. I'm pleased for the players and the fans.

“I'm happy [Adam] Buksa scored. We all are. Of course he's not happy with how his season has gone. Injuries have held him back and with [Keinan] Davis and [Nicolo] Zaniolo doing so well he hasn't had many opportunities to play. He showed he can score and fight today.

“I hope the goal will be a confidence boost for him. He's a Poland international and he has a lot to offer but he's still adapting to Serie A. He knows he needs to do better and he's ambitious. It's good to have him back. Davis is back too now but he might not always play. Zaniolo is not 100% yet but we have good options in attack. I hope Buksa's goal today will help him score more.”
