It was a night to remember for Sandi Lovric on Sunday as he starred in Slovenia’s 4-0 win over San Marino. The midfielder scored with a fine left-footed shot from the edge of the area to put the hosts 3-0 up as part of a swashbuckling performance. His club team-mate Jaka Bijol was also in action for the full 90 minutes.
Lazar Samardzic and Festy Ebosele were also involved in international action, with the Serb coming on after 84 minutes to help seal a 3-1 win over Lithuania, while the Ireland full-back entered the fray on 87 minutes to try to turn around a 2-1 deficit against the Netherlands, but there would prove to be no more goals on the night.
