Sporting director Gokhan Inler was interviewed by Udinese’s YouTube channel following the Zebrette’s 2-1 friendly loss to Shabab Al-Ahli.
“We’ve put in a lot of hard work over the last few weeks, and the lads are feeling the strain, both physically and mentally. Today’s opponents have been here for three weeks. We showed some nerves in the first half. We lost today’s match and need to improve in many areas, but the lads are giving it their all, and we must keep working hard.
“It’s crucial that we have a full squad available. Players like [Nicolo] Zaniolo and [Jesper] Karlstrom are leaders, and it’s important that they get minutes under their belts.
“I’d like to send my best wishes to the Pozzo family on their forty years of ownership. It’s a huge honour to work for them.”
