After Saturday's 0-0 draw with Hellas Verona, Gokhan Inler spoke to the press about Udinese's claim for a penalty, which fell on deaf ears during the match.
“I've seen lots of situations like that before – I had a long playing career,” the technical director explained. “It was a penalty on [Sandi] Lovric. He has a mark on his ankle – there was a clear touch. It should have been reviewed by the VAR and a penalty awarded.
“There have been lots of incidents in games this season that have held us back. The lads are giving their all but lots of dubious calls are going against us. I hope everyone can do more – ourselves as well as the match officials.
“We can be happy with the 25 points we've amassed at the halfway stage, although we could have got more than one today.”
