He is a modern defender with a strong physical build; at the same time, however, he is also a fast, technical player. Last season, at Empoli, he quickly stood out as one of the best young centre-backs in Serie A.
Goglichidze was born on 25 June 2004 in Kutaisi, Georgia. He grew up playing for the youth teams of his hometown team, Torpedo Kutaisi, and debuted for their senior team in 2021.
He played an impressive season in 2022, collecting 15 league appearances and two appearances in the Georgian Cup. The following season he played 14 league matches.
Empoli noticed his potential and brought him to Italy in 2024. The first year was a learning curve; then the 2024/25 season was when he truly started to thrive.
