Udinese bounced back from defeat to Juventus by battling their way to a 2-0 win over Genoa.
The home side had the better of the chances in the first half and Udinese spent long spells of the game defending, with opportunities few and far between.
In the second half Nicolo Zaniolo spotted Jurgen Ekkelenkamp's run and curled in an inch-perfect delivery for the Dutchman to head home.
Deep into stoppage time, Keinan Davis accelerated away from two defenders and finished past Justin Bijlow to seal the points.
The result takes Kosta Runjaic's side up to 39 points – in tenth place awaiting Sassuolo's result – heading into the international break.
