Udinese have signed World Cup winner Florian Thauvin, with the 30-year-old penning a deal until 30 June 2025. Blessed with bucketloads of talent and class, the Frenchman is a forward capable of playing across the front line.

Born in Orleans on 26 January 1993, Thauvin came through the youth ranks at Grenoble before moving on to Bastia where he made his Ligue 1 debut. He was then picked up by Marseille, where he enjoyed a couple of fruitful seasons, before moving to Premier League side Newcastle United.

While his time in England wasn’t successful, after heading back to Marseille Thauvin had the most successful spell of his career, firing in 15, 22 and 16 league goals for the French side in consecutive seasons. It was the most productive of these campaigns which led to Thauvin being selected for Didier Deschamps’ 2018 World Cup squad, and he featured against Argentina in the last 16 as France went on to lift the trophy.

He then headed abroad once more, this time to Mexico, where he played 38 times and scored eight goals for Tigres UANL, and now he begins the latest chapter in his career at Udinese in Italy.
