Udinese Calcio are delighted to announce that Federico Balzaretti has become the club’s new sporting director. The 41-year-old has signed a deal until 30 June 2025.
Balzaretti enjoyed a stellar playing career, featuring in over 400 professional games and representing clubs such as Torino, Juventus, Roma and Fiorentina, as well as making 16 appearances for the Italian national team, including at Euro 2012.
As soon as Balzaretti hung up his boots he headed into a director role, joining Roma and working closely alongside such luminaries as Walter Sabatini, Federico Massara and Ramon Rodriguez Verdejo, ‘Monchi’.
He then headed to Vicenza where he spent two seasons and was part of the club’s Coppa Italia Serie C conquest in 2022/23.
