Enzo Ebosse and Kosta Runjaic met with the gathered journalists after Udinese's 2-1 reverse at the hands of Lazio on Monday.
Here's what they had to say:
Ebosse: "We fell away physically after 70 minutes. Objectively speaking Lazio were stronger than us at the end. [Oumar] Solet felt a twinge and [Jakub] Piotrowski wasn't completely right before the game. We played well though and it's not all negative but we need to learn from this going into our next games.
“It wasn't mental fatigue but when you see your so drained physically you have to change the way you play. We couldn't keep the ball so we needed to switch to playing more on the second balls, knocking it up field – the second goal could have been avoided like that, I think. We must learn from these mistakes.”
Runjaic: “I'm very disappointed to lose this match tonight. We played well in the first half despite the injury problems. We don't have the squad depth that Lazio do but [Christian] Kabasele came in and did well. We lost Piotrowski too and we were short on breath – it was a very intense game with lots of turnovers. We should have conceded fewer counter-attacks in the first half especially.
“They have players like [Nuno] Tavares with an incredible engine and [Mattia] Zaccagni, who is very smart, plus the likes of [Gustav] Isaksen and [Andrea] Pinamonti.
“We needed to lower the tempo after taking the lead. If we'd been a bit smarter and more streetwise, we could have come away with a different result. In any case, the lads gave them all and I'm proud of them.”
