Gabriele Cioffi has spoken of the psychological challenge facing his team as they prepare to face Juventus at a time when points are hard to come by.

“The lads are motivated, focused and aware,” he told the media ahead of Monday's home fixture. “We're in a marathon. We have to win the mental battle and believe in what we're doing. We're focused on the here and now and on getting points.

“Every game is a chance to throw off the shackles that we do have. We know we're facing the best in the business, if not in the league table, in terms of mentality. They're a team that's used to winning and they'll be looking to bounce back after losing at San Siro. We're ready to put in a performance that goes beyond our limits, both physically and mentally.”

Regarding team selection, Cioffi admitted: “My main doubt is on the right flank. Joao Ferreira is another option. I have to decide between him, Festy Ebosele and Kingsley Ehizibue”.

“Brenner just needs to build up his playing time. He's getting close to full fitness and he's learning quickly.

"Keinan Davis has trained with us this week and he'll be in the squad.

Finally, the coach commented on the contribution of players from the bench.

“In our last few games, the substitutions haven't had much of an impact but in the situation we're in we can't afford to have players coming on and just being normal. I've spoken to the lads and they'll turn it up a notch.

“We have a lot to lose because every point is important and we've seen this season that you can pick up points anywhere. We're ready to put up a fight.”
