“It’s great to be back. I’m happy with what the lads produced today.” Gabriele Cioffi gave his assessment of his first match back in charge of Udinese. Here are the main takeaways from his post-match interview:
“While I’m not satisfied there were so many positives from today’s game. We attacked the spaces well and we didn’t hold back. We showed desire to win and a resilience to deal with being under the cosh.
“I’ve never doubted the quality of the players here. Walace, Roberto Pereyra and Christian Kabasele are real leaders, and many other lads did well.
“Tucu put in a tremendous performance. He’s helped out the youngsters here a lot. I fielded him behind the front line to confuse the Monza defence, then I decided to up the ante and allow the flank players to get forward more."
