Jaka Bijol was unable to hide his disappointment with the draw against Empoli but admitted it was an important result nonetheless.

“I'm not happy,” he began after the match. “We wanted to win today but it's always good when you score right at the end. It gives you energy. Now we'll focus on the last match against Frosinone.

“The fans were exceptional. We wanted to win for them as well. It went the way it did but I want to say a huge thank you to them and tell them to come with us to Frosinone. I'm sure we'll have lots of supporters there too.

One of the leaders of the team, the Slovene handed the ball to Lazar Samardzic for the last-gasp penalty that secured Udinese a vital point.

“The coach decides who takes penalties and we all have to respect his decisions. We're a close-knit group and we're compact going into the last match. It's always nice to play at home but we'll go to Frosinone to win. It all depends on us. We must go there with the right mentality.”
