There were celebrations aplenty for Slovenia on Tuesday evening as their 0-0 stalemate with England was enough to earn them a place in the last 16 at Euro 2024. Udinese’s Sandri Lovric and Jaka Bijol rejoiced as the team made history by qualifying for the knockout stage for the first time.
It was Jaka’s third start out of three and his strong defensive display helped keep England’s attacking threat at bay.
There was disappointment elsewhere in Group C for Lazar Samardzic, as Serbia’s 0-0 draw with Denmark meant that they finished bottom of the group on two points. The midfielder did, however, enjoy the thrill of making his full debut for his national team during the tournament.
Congratulations, lads!
