Speaking after Udinese's contest with Milan on Saturday evening, club technical director Federico Balzaretti said: "I have been here in Udine for several months and the people here are extraordinary. This is the most multi-ethnic club possible, and the city is example of integration. Clearly, we will take action against the person or people responsible for these acts. Obviously, it is not the whole fanbase that is responsible. We do not tolerate any form of racism, the public prosecutor's office will investigate what happened, whether it was one person or more. Nobody tolerates any form of racism, the club first and foremost, and it will act."

Commenting on the match, which saw Udinese lose to a late winner, he added: "The points we've dropped are starting to add up. We have to improve, particularly at the end of games – it's an issue of concentration and attention to detail. Everyone saw the team's performance tonight – it was a big one, of character. They fought until the end. We will come back to work together, more united and stronger than ever. We have to make sure we handle difficult moments in the right way and improve the details that make the difference."

Meanwhile on Lazar Samardzic, who made the score 1-1, Balzaretti commented: "We have good players, who attract interest. Transfer market situations are something we have to deal with. We won't be giving anything away for free – the fact he has played in the last few games is because he is focused and improving." The technical director added that coach Gabriele Cioffi has "worked a lot on many aspects", so the team can "have that strength necessary moving forward".
