Arthur Atta was the man in the Udinese Tonight hotseat this week, the day after the team's away win at Pisa.

He spoke about the match, the mood in the camp and his own development as a player, besides touching on other topics.

“Everything is going great after these two wins,” he began. “We worked really hard in pre-season and that's one of the reasons for the start we've had. During the summer we realised it was important to win the friendlies too and we won the last four, then we won our Coppa Italia game too. It hasn't come as a surprise. We've just carried on from those summer results.”

The Frenchman then explained the differences with last season.

“We've learnt from the last ten matches of last season and we don't want to repeat that. We must keep working away.

“Last season we had some important players like [Lorenzo] Lucca and [Florian] Thauvin. Now we have a quality group and we know we must give everything on the pitch. I'm happy to play with these team-mates. They help me to become a better player. I want to keep growing.”

Atta then offered his first impressions of some of the new signings.

"I saw a bit of [Idrissa] Gueye at Metz before I came here but now we can all see the ability he has. He's good with both feet and he's fast. He'll learn a lot from the other forwards we have here.

“[Nicolo] Zaniolo and [Alessandro] Zanoli have slotted in well. They bring quality and experience. I'm sure they'll help us and we're happy to have them here,

Atta also gave his assessment of the victory in Pisa.

“We played with great intensity in the first half but it was difficult to keep it up in the second half We have to learn how to maintain that tempo, but we have time. We know that when we play against teams like Pisa or Verona we can win possession and score quickly.”

Iker Bravo's match-winning goal came about after Atta linked up with Keinan Davis – the same combination that led to Atta's goal at San Siro.

“Davis is an excellent striker and someone we can rely on. When I have the ball I always try to make things happen.”

Atta explained that his improvement during his first year in Udine was partly thanks to the decisions made by Runjaic.

“I always played as a box-to-box midfielder before coming to Udine but last year I played in a wide position and I realised I was good at dribbling. Now I feel stronger playing in a box-to-box role.”

This season he's started adding goals to his game too.

“The boss has given me the confidence to get up near the goal. Last year I said I wanted to help the team but I didn't manage to score. This year I did it straight away.”

Arthur finished by talking about the fans and next Saturday's match against Milan.

“Lots of fans made the trip on Sunday and it was wonderful. When you're on the pitch and you hear them, it gives you strength.

“It's going to be a great game against Milan in front of our supporters. We'll have to really scrap for it but hopefully we can win.”
