Energy, technique and power: Udinese have bolstered their left flank by signing Colombian star Juan David Arizala. He joins the club on a permanent deal from Independiente de Medellin and has signed a contract until 30 June 2030. The Colombian is the epitome of a modern flank player. He can adapt to various roles, having played as a full-back in a back four, a wing-back and also as an orthodox winger.
Arizala was born in El Charco, Colombia, on 10 October 2005. He came through Independiente de Medellin’s youth academy and went on to make his first team debut for the club in 2023. He also saw playing time and gained experience at continental level in the Copa Sudamericana. During his two and a half year stint in the first team he made 54 appearances and scored three goals across the league, domestic cups and continental competitions.
Arizala is considered one of South America's brightest talents in his position. He has 22 caps and has scored one goal for Colombia's U-20 team, for whom he played a key role in the U-20 World Cup a few months ago.
Now Arizala is embarking on a new adventure and in doing so continuing the great tradition of Colombians at Udinese. Arizala has chosen to wear the number 20 jersey.
Welcome, Juan!
