Udinese’s U20 attacking midfielder Nikolay Popov can be very happy about his performance with the Bulgarian U17 team: he played three times as team captain and wore the number 10 shirt in all three matches for his national team during the past international break.
Popov and his teammates lost 0-1 to Slovakia in their first match, drew 1-1 in the second against Switzerland and won 0-5 in the third against San Marino, in which the young Udinese player scored two goals. All three games were qualifiers for the upcoming European Under-17 Championship.
