Udinese Calcio is taking another big step towards becoming carbon neutral by adopting UEFA's Carbon Footprint Calculator to measure scope 1, 2, 3 emissions.
This innovative new tool is to be unveiled by Michele Uva, UEFA Director of Sustainability, at Emirates Stadium in London today, 6 March 2024.
Udinese has decided to seize this wonderful opportunity immediately and start using the Carbon Footprint Calculator software, which is validated by Société Générale de Surveillance (SGS), the world's leading testing, inspection and certification company.
The decision comes just weeks after the presentation of the club's revolutionary solar park project for Bluenergy Stadium and further underlines its commitment to reducing its environmental impact.
Udinese Calcio is Italy's most sustainable football club and the fourth most sustainable in the world according to the 2023 Brand Finance Football Sustainability Index.
The club is also a member of the European Club Association Sustainability Working Group for the 2023-2027 cycle.
Udinese Calcio's ultimate aim is to turn Bluenergy Stadium into the first carbon-neutral stadium in Italy and one of just a handful in Europe.
