Between 8 and 11 October in Barcelona Sportbiz Europe was held, one of the most important sports business congresses in the world, focusing on innovation, digital transformation and market trends that will define the sport of today and tomorrow. Among the participants were representatives from the NBA, FIFA, Juventus, Sevilla, Google, the Bundesliga, the AFA (Argentine football federation) and many other companies, federations and businesses.
Udinese Calcio were represented by marketing manager Gianluca Pizzamiglio, who was among the speakers during the panel discussion titled ‘Stay ahead in the dynamic sponsorship landscape’. It was moderated by the president of the European Sponsorship Association, and Pizzamiglio appeared together with a representative of Danone on behalf of Paris 2024 and the operational director of G2 Esports.
Pizzamiglio outlined two of Udinese’s sustainability projects. The first was the Summer Camp 2024, which earned a nomination for the ECA Sustainability Awards. It saw the young participants operating in a plastic-free environment, attending discussions dedicated to respect for the environment and inclusion and wearing kits made by Macron from recycled plastic bottles. The second was the solar panel project currently being set up on the roof of Bluenergy Stadium, in collaboration with Bluenergy, which will see 2,400 photovoltaic panels power the venue, with the aim of making it zero-emission.
The invitation to such a prestigious event highlights the goals achieved by Udinese Calcio on their path towards ever greater sustainability. It’s a goal that the club aims to achieve as part of a team effort alongside their sponsors, and underlines once again the dedication Udinese are showing when it comes to the impact that their activities have on the environment and the community in which it operates.
